Overview

Kareemo is a Kuwaiti social drama that examines class, belonging, and family betrayal through the contrasting lives of two expatriate siblings. Sister Taif marries a Kuwaiti citizen, assimilates into the country, and rises to a comfortable aristocratic life of privilege and ease. Her brother Kareemo, however, arrives in Kuwait in poverty only to find that his sister and her children have distanced themselves from him entirely, ashamed of his circumstances. Forced to scrape by in low-wage jobs with no family support, Kareemo's struggle puts a human face on the cost of chasing status at the expense of loyalty. The series poses probing questions about what family truly owes its own.
