Bye Bye Arab, is a 1986 Kuwaiti play, directed by Moncef Souissi, and starring AbdulHusain AbdulRedha, Hayat Al-Fahad, Saleh Hamad, with a runtime of 144 minutes. Content rating: PG18.
Bye Bye Arab is a darkly comic Kuwaiti stage production that takes a satirical look at the dream of Arab unity. The story follows Arab, an idealistic man who genuinely believes the Arab world can be united, and who joins the fantastical Marjan the Genie on a journey across the Arab landscape in pursuit of that dream. What he encounters, however, is a sobering and tragicomic reality — a world fractured by division, indifference, and self-interest that makes the dream seem impossibly distant. A biting political comedy that uses absurdist humor to confront one of the Arab world's most cherished and elusive aspirations.
