Overview

Carnaval is an Egyptian drama thriller set against the backdrop of a city in collapse. Adham, a 42-year-old policeman torn between professional duty and a deep moral crisis, battles recurring panic attacks that leave him barely functional. When he rescues Tanya, his superior's twelve-year-old daughter, from the chaos of Cairo Zoo, the two are thrown together for an entire unplanned day. What unfolds is an unlikely pairing that strips away adult pretenses and childhood innocence in equal measure — a tense, single-day character study set in a Cairo that feels on the verge of unraveling entirely.
