Overview
Illusions of Love is an Egyptian romantic drama that follows Hassan and Amira, two young people who defy their families to get married. Hassan's mother-in-law considers him beneath her daughter — a simple bank employee with no great prospects — while Hassan's father believes Amira is not the right match for his son's future. Despite the opposition, the couple marries under dramatic circumstances. But the wedding does not silence their families, and the tensions that surrounded their union begin to seep into their life together, eroding the love — or what they believed to be love — that drove them to each other in the first place. The series is a poignant examination of romance tested by family pressure and the thin line between love and illusion.
