Children of Shatila, is a 1998 Lebanese movie, directed by Mai Masri. with a runtime of 50 minutes.
Children of Shatila is a documentary by director Mai Masri that bears witness to daily life in Beirut's Shatila refugee camp — a name that became synonymous with horror following the 1982 Sabra-Shatila massacre. Home to 15,000 Palestinians and Lebanese sharing a history of displacement, poverty, and unemployment, the camp becomes the setting for an intimate and humane portrait told through two children: Farah, age 11, and Issa, age 12. Armed with video cameras, they document their own world, giving voice to the hopes and sorrows of an entire generation living in a camp that has survived massacre, siege, and starvation — fifty years after their grandparents' exile from Palestine.
