Beirut: Eye of the Storm, is a 2021 Lebanese movie, directed by Mai Masri. with a runtime of 75 minutes.
Beirut: Eye of the Storm is a Lebanese documentary that captures the electric energy and painful disillusionment of Beirut's October 2019 uprising through the eyes of four women at its center. Journalist Hanine and Iraqi camerawoman Lujain document the streets, while sisters Noel and Michelle — artists whose sharp, satirical songs became the soundtrack of their generation — lend the movement a cultural voice. The film follows the arc from the early days of hope and collective defiance to the crushing arrival of Covid-19, which shuttered the city and seemed to extinguish the flame of change. A deeply personal and politically resonant portrait of a society suspended between revolution and despair.
