Overview

Lion and Four Cats is an Egyptian comedy thriller film that begins when Captain Shebl Dorgham is assigned to provide security at a high-profile hotel concert headlined by the popular musical group The Four Cats. When a murder takes place during the performance and the band members find themselves the only witnesses to the crime, Shebl takes the drastic step of moving them into his uncle's house in the working-class Cairo neighborhood of Imbaba to keep them safe. What follows is an irresistible collision of worlds — a by-the-book military officer cohabiting with a lively pop group — generating a cascade of comedic situations, culture clashes, and laugh-out-loud moments.
