Overview

Al-Tofan (The Flood) is an Egyptian comedy-drama series that follows the Mandouh family, a modest household raised single-handedly by the matriarch Hajja Safia after losing her husband. When the land he left them in Ismailia is found to lie within the Suez Canal expansion project, its value soars to 300 million Egyptian pounds overnight. Suddenly every family member is a millionaire — and that is where the real flood begins. Greed, rivalry, and changed personalities crash over what was once a close-knit family. Al-Tofan is a sharp social comedy that asks what happens to ordinary people when extraordinary wealth arrives without warning.
