The Blind Ferryman, is a Iraqi movie, directed by Ali Al-Fatlawi, and starring Ahmed Moneka, Sam Rahmani. Kuhel Khalid.
The Blind Ferryman is a haunting Iraqi drama set amid the mystical swamps of southern Iraq. Ayoub, a blind ferryman who navigates the marshes by instinct and memory, encounters a mysterious woman and falls deeply in love — yet no one around him believes she exists. As his neighbours grow suspicious and withdraw, Ayoub is left in complete isolation, a man caught between the reality others insist on and the world only he can perceive. Pushed to the edge of despair, he commits an irreversible act that seals his fate. Drawing on folk myth and poetic imagery, the film is a mesmerising meditation on loneliness, longing, and the fine line between love and obsession.
