Overview

Masira is a moving Moroccan documentary revisiting the memory of the glorious Green March of 1975, in which hundreds of thousands of Moroccans marched to reclaim the Western Sahara. The participants interviewed here had aimed to reach the city of Laâyoune, but their journey stalled at the edge of Tarfaya. Forty-five years on, they return to those same places, allowing half a century of memories and emotions to resurface. A deeply human work, the film weaves personal testimony with collective history — honoring the courage of a generation whose shared experience became one of Morocco's most defining national moments. Intimate, reflective, and suffused with the bittersweet weight of time.
