Ali, Hachem and Khaled is a documentary born from the devastation of the August 4, 2020 Beirut port explosion — a catastrophe that killed two hundred people, seriously injured five thousand, and displaced three hundred thousand residents. In the wake of the disaster, the filmmakers set out to locate three port workers who had appeared in one of their earlier films a decade prior, weaving an intimate human thread through the scale of the tragedy. The result is a deeply personal and politically resonant portrait of survival, loss, and the ongoing search for accountability in a city still struggling to rebuild.
