Overview

Abtal Al-Salahif is a Kuwaiti children's stage play inspired by the beloved television series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, reimagined with a deeply patriotic Kuwaiti message. The story follows the villainous Fram and his gang as they occupy a defenseless village — a clear allegorical reference to the Iraqi occupation of Kuwait in 1990. The village's people join forces with the four heroic turtle warriors to resist the occupiers and ultimately drive them out and reclaim their freedom. The play combines child-friendly adventure and entertainment with a meaningful educational message about resistance, solidarity, and national pride, making it a significant work in Kuwaiti children's cultural memory.
