
A singer who worked in cinema, he graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture from Cairo University in 1949 and worked as a radio broadcaster. During his childhood and youth, he lived in the care of his uncle, the musician of generations (Mohamed Abdel Wahab). He worked on the radio immediately after graduating as a broadcaster for five years. His artistic inclinations began early, which made him turn to singing. Director Hussein Fawzi discovered him and introduced him to cinema in four successive films: “Live and Salt” in 1949 with (Naima Akef), and in 1950 “Let Me Sing” and “My Sister Stita” with Sabah, and “My Country and Lightness” with (Naima Akef).
