Jawad Al Shukrchi

An Iraqi actor and artist, born in Baghdad in 1951. He graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad in 1978 and has many artistic works inside and outside Iraq. His first artistic work was the play “Anger”, directed by Adib Al-Qaliji, and then he participated in many artistic works, including the play “A Thousand and One Journeys” and “If”, for which he won as best actor at the Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theater in 1989, as well as the play “Tales of Thirst, Land and Man”. As for Iraqi cinema, such as “The Lover” written by Abdul Khaleq Al-Rikabi, and “The Long Days” written by Abdul Amir Maalah. He married the artist Ghazwa Al-Khalidi and she gave birth to his son Haider, who traveled with his mother to America after their separation in 1989.
