Ismet Raafat

An Egyptian actress, born in Montpellier to a French mother and an Egyptian father in the diplomatic corps. She studied in Paris at the Conservatoire De Paris D'art Dramatique. She began her artistic activity in 1954 after finishing her studies and joined the National Band, after which she moved to the Ismail Yassin Band until 1959. She also worked as a broadcaster and program preparer on the Egyptian Radio (European-French programme) from 1958 - 1991, in addition to translating theatrical works into French and directing them for radio.
