An Egyptian director, she was born in Cairo in 1942, and spent her childhood in Minya Governorate. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts at Ain Shams University, then a Master’s degree at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University in 1973. Immediately upon graduation, she trained at the BBC in the British capital, London. She also trained on television in East Germany and Czechoslovakia. After returning again to Egypt, she was appointed to Egyptian Television, where she worked for more than 30 years, during which she graduated. She held many government jobs until she reached retirement age, where she held the position of Director of the Women’s Programs Department and then Vice President of the Production Sector. She specialized in directing drama series, the most famous of which are (Love and Other Things, Abla Hikmet’s Conscience, Umm Kulthum, Qasim Amin, Yesterday’s Story), and presented films (Sorry I Refuse to Divorce, Dream Catcher, The Road to Eilat, Stranger’s Tales).
