
An Egyptian actor, composer, and singer of Nubian origin. He was born in the city of Qena in 1897. He lived in the city of Alexandria. He specialized in presenting monologues, the most famous of which was “Allenby” in the midst of the 1919 revolution, demanding the return of the leader of the nation, Saad Zaghloul, from his exile. He also formed the first Sahba group, which was joined by Ismail Yassin, Mahmoud Shokoko, Fayed Mohamed Fayed, and Mohamed Fawzi. The number of monologues reached... He composed 200 monologues. He began his artistic career in cinema in the mid-forties and played distinctive secondary roles, most of which were a janitor, a cook, or a member of a popular music band. His films include (The Sons of Adam, Sibony I Sing, Birds of Paradise, God is Great). He is Idris's uncle in the movie (Khadra's Adventures), he is the father of Anwar (Fathia Shaheen) in the movie (My Loves a Lot), and he is Nero in the movie (The Millionaire). He died in 1959.
