
An Egyptian composer, arranger, and keyboard player. He was born on August 15, 1955 in the city of Akyad, Sharkia Governorate. He obtained a music diploma from the Monte Verde Conservatory, affiliated with the Leonard da Vinci Institute, and later traveled to Italy to study music theory, harmony, and piano at the Alfred Ohnes Institute. He was interested in music since childhood, as religious sessions were held in his father’s house in which he recited religious songs and supplications and read the Qur’an, which had a great impact on the formation of his musical sense from a young age. During secondary school, he participated in a television competition program entitled (The Cup is for Whom), in which he won the soloist award for three consecutive years. At the age of fifteen, he worked in the theatrical troupe of the artist, Tahiya Karioka, and then moved to work in the variety theatre. In 1971, he composed his first soundtrack for a radio series about the life of Rose Al-Youssef, and after that he continued to compose soundtracks for many artistic works. During his artistic career, he graduated from an accordion player to an organ player, then created his own band in 1976. In 1977, he established his own artistic production company, through which he discovered many singers, including Samira Saeed and Dhikra. In 1988, he established Golden Sound Recording Studios, which was equipped with the latest equipment and technologies used globally. During his artistic career, Mohanna received many awards, the most important of which was the Best Soundtrack Award from the Egyptian Society of Cinema Writers in 1976, a certificate of appreciation and a shield from the New York Academy of Music for his overall achievements in the fields of composing, composing and arranging Arabic music, a certificate of appreciation and a gold medal from the Cairo International Film Festival for his overall production in the field of soundtracks in 1996, and many awards that were in honor of his artistic life and long artistic career. Many heads of state also honored him for his efforts in the field of music.
