He is an Egyptian writer, director, and actor. He was born in Menoufia Governorate in 1932. He obtained a Bachelor of Laws from Ain Shams University in 1954. He then joined the Institute of Dramatic Arts, from which he graduated in 1958. He went to work in theater in the early sixties, where he participated in many plays, including (False Report) in 1962, which he co-wrote and directed, as well as acting in. After that, his works continued, especially in theater, the most prominent of which is (The Fox is Fat, Touta Coffee, Nyam Nyam. He also had several experiences working in cinema and television, including Hammam El Malatili, Shaqlabaz. He passed away in 2002 after suffering a stroke. The artist's uncle (Ahmed Halawa). He was the husband of the late artist Tahia Karioka.
