Both Ends Against the Middle is a social comedy play centring on the Saud family as they grapple with a cascade of domestic crises. The trouble begins when their daughter announces she is calling off her engagement — her feelings for her fiancé have simply evaporated. But as the play unfolds, it becomes clear that this broken betrothal is merely the first thread in a much larger tangle of family complications. With wit and warmth, the production mines the absurdities of family life and social expectations, using humour as a lens through which to explore questions of commitment, freedom, and what we owe each other in matters of the heart.
