Overview

TATTIWIN is a Moroccan documentary that reconstructs the remarkable story of Morocco's first hydroelectric power stations — Flilou and Sidi Saïd — built by the French company Penarroya in the colonial era to supply electricity to the Ahouli lead mining operations. At the heart of this history is Tattiwine, a village just twelve kilometers from Midelt, whose waters from the Oued Aâttat and Oued Moulouya rivers made it all possible — supplying both stations with the flow needed to generate power. The film frames this engineering history within its colonial context, tracing how Midelt became one of the first Moroccan cities to be electrified, and what that legacy means today.
