Sound of Torture, is a 2013 Saudi movie, directed by Keren Shayo. with a runtime of 58 minutes.
Sound of Torture is a gripping documentary following Swedish-Eritrean radio host Meron Estefanos, who broadcasts a weekly program from her Stockholm home entirely dedicated to the hundreds of Eritrean refugees held hostage by Bedouin traffickers in Egypt's Sinai Desert. The kidnappers seize Eritreans attempting to reach Israel and demand enormous ransoms from their families. Meron works tirelessly to intervene, calling both hostages and their captors live on air. The film centers on two hostage stories: Hiriyti, who was pregnant when abducted, and her husband Amaniel desperately trying to free her from Tel Aviv; and Timnit, 20, whose ransom has been paid but who has vanished without a trace. Meron's journey into Sinai exposes the brutal human cost of this trafficking network, making Sound of Torture a harrowing and vital piece of documentary filmmaking.
