Overview

Huda's Salon is a 2021 Palestinian feminist thriller based on real events, set in the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem. Reem, a young mother trapped in a marriage to a jealous and controlling man, visits the local beauty salon run by Huda for nothing more than a haircut and a moment of relief. The ordinary visit turns nightmarish when Huda engineers a compromising situation and uses it to blackmail Reem into collaborating with the Israeli intelligence services against her own community. Caught between an impossible choice of betrayal or exposure, Reem must find a way to fight back. A heart-racing, politically charged thriller that puts Palestinian women's lives at its centre.
