Qatari Siteen Bel-Miya is a Qatari social comedy that skewers the realities of middle-class life amid sweeping economic shifts. Sami, a physical education teacher, sets his sights on marrying his cousin Sarah, but her family dismisses him in favor of a higher-earning private-sector suitor. When a landmark 60% salary hike is announced, Sami's fortunes seem to turn — until rampant price inflation cancels out his gains. Undeterred, Sami and his fiancée launch a Twitter campaign to boycott profiteering merchants, only to find that Sarah's own merchant father is among their targets. The uncle retaliates by fabricating Photoshopped images to frame Sami for accepting bribes and drive the couple apart. The film builds to a resolution that carries both personal and political weight, culminating in a royal decree to establish a consumer-protection committee. A sharp satire on greed, social media activism, and the gap between government promises and everyday economic reality.
