Overview
The Tanbura is an Arabic comedy-drama centered on the Tambour family, ruled by a fearsome patriarch whose iron will keeps every member of the household on edge. As the family's relationships tangle and unravel beneath the surface of his authority, the drama mines the gap between the outward fear he inspires and the absurdities hidden underneath. A funny and perceptive portrait of family power dynamics, where the tyrant at the head of the table may not be as invincible as he seems.
