Overview

Kingdom of Ants is a Palestinian documentary that draws a striking parallel between the underground world of ants and the daily reality of Palestinian people navigating a network of tunnels and caves beneath Israeli occupation checkpoints. The film journeys through these subterranean passages — arteries connecting besieged Palestinian cities — uncovering layers of history and successive civilizations embedded in the land. Blending bitter reality with myth and symbolism, the documentary bears witness to the resilience of a people who continue to endure suffering and occupation. A poetic and politically charged portrait of Palestinian existence and resistance.
