Mabrouk, You Have a Problem is an Egyptian comedy film built around a deliciously disastrous case of wrong place, wrong time. Mabrouk is a modestly paid schoolteacher who sees a private tutoring gig at the luxurious villa of wealthy Sadky Bek as his ticket to a better life — and the chance to finally afford marriage with his colleague. But the evening takes a catastrophic turn when a violent argument between Sadky Bek and his wife, Safi Hanem, ends in a murder-suicide, leaving their four children suddenly without parents. Mabrouk, the hapless onlooker, finds himself appointed their reluctant guardian. A sharp Egyptian comedy of errors that wrings humor from impossible responsibility and chaotic domesticity.
