Overview

"Madonna" is an Egyptian drama film set within the hushed walls of a monastery, where the theft of a renowned Italian artist's iconic painting sets off a carefully concealed crisis. The abbots choose to suppress the crime rather than risk public scandal — but their silence has unexpected consequences. The incident reopens a long-dormant conflict between Father Maurice and Father Francis, two men whose differing philosophies and worldviews have never fully made peace. What begins as a criminal investigation unfolds into a profound meditation on conscience, institutional cover-up, and the moral compromises made in the name of reputation. A quietly compelling drama that asks whether concealing wrongdoing is itself a greater sin.
