Fifty Thousand Photographs is a short film driven by one man's painful search for a single image of his father. After his family burned all of their photographs during a campaign of forced image destruction in the 1980s, Turki is left with nothing — no visual trace of the man who raised him. His search becomes an act of mourning and reclamation, a journey through absence in a time when even a photograph could be dangerous. The film raises profound questions about memory, identity, and the violence of erasure — asking what we lose when images disappear, and what it costs to recover even one.
