Overview

Hawameer Al-Asham is an Arabic comedy series that puts family dysfunction under a sharp satirical lens. Ghada and her siblings live under the iron grip of their controlling mother Latifa, a school cleaner who fancies herself a woman of great social standing. Obsessed with jealousy over her husband, Latifa cuts off the household's internet and television, keeping her family in a bubble of her own creation. The household dynamics shift dramatically when the family's uncle is revealed to have amassed a fortune in the stock market, sending Latifa's delusions and the family's carefully constructed routines into chaos. The series blends sharp domestic comedy with pointed social observation.
