Overview

Frontiers is a Moroccan documentary that follows Maité as she travels to the city of Laayoune in the Moroccan Sahara to work with Dahmane on producing a documentary program about the region. What she encounters upon arrival bears little resemblance to anything she had imagined or expected. The film uses this collision between preconception and reality as a way to explore the contested narratives, layered identities, and human complexity that define the Moroccan Sahara — a landscape shaped as much by competing stories as by its vast geography.
