Overview

Electrical Gaza is a documentary short film commissioned by the Imperial War Museum, created by director Rosalind Nashashibi. Blending live footage from her time in Gaza — alongside the fixer, drivers, and translator who guided her — with evocative animated sequences, Nashashibi crafts a portrait of Gaza that transcends news-cycle imagery. She presents the territory as a mythic, suspended space: isolated, charged with latent energy, and resistant to easy representation. The film is both a personal travelogue and a meditation on the limits of documentary witness.
