Samouni Road is a documentary by director Stefano Savona set in the rural outskirts of Gaza City, where the extended Samouni farming family prepares to celebrate a wedding — the first since the last war. Young survivors Amal and Fuad, along with their brothers and cousins, have lost their parents, homes, and olive trees, and their neighborhood is still being rebuilt. As they replant trees and till the fields, they must also piece together their own fragmented memories of what happened. Samouni Road weaves their testimonies into a deeply moving, multi-layered portrait of a Palestinian family before, during, and after the devastating event that changed their lives forever.
