Overview

Recycle is a social drama set in Zarqa, Jordan — the impoverished town where Al-Qaeda in Iraq leader Al-Zarqawi was raised. It follows Abu Amar, a former mujahideen who, disillusioned with the aftermath of Afghanistan's chaos in the 1980s, has tried to reconcile his faith by writing a moderate book on jihad. Unable to publish his work and forced to collect cardboard in the streets to feed his family, he faces a crisis that may push him to a radical decision. A deeply human portrait of a man caught between ideology, survival, and the search for dignity.
