Braids is a Moroccan drama set in Tangier, tracing the lives of teenage Amin and his two sisters Kenza and Saida. When Saida is raped by the son of the man who employs Kenza as a domestic worker, the family discovers the perpetrator's father is a politician running for election — and he wastes no time threatening them into silence. The film navigates the devastating collision between a family's pursuit of justice and the wall of power erected against them. Raw and unsparing, Braids is a portrait of systemic injustice and the impossible positions it forces upon ordinary families.
