Cineholic is an Iraqi documentary film that follows a group of childhood friends from Kirkuk and their lifelong love affair with cinema. As the friends revisit their memories, the film also examines the corrosive impact of the neoliberal economic model imported to Iraq following the US-led invasion — epitomized by a collective cinema hall from the 1980s that has since been converted into a garage for imported cars.
