Overview

Bassant and Diyasty is an Egyptian social comedy series set in the rural village of Kafr Abu Ajwa, where the lovable Diyasty runs a modest café alongside his wife Bassant. Never content with a quiet life, Diyasty constantly launches ambitious projects and community initiatives aimed at modernizing the village and catching up with the outside world's rapid technological advances. The series mines its comedy from the culture clash between simple village life and the demands of the modern age, following Diyasty and Bassant through a succession of well-meaning plans that rarely go as expected. A warm and humorous portrait of rural Egyptian life, the show celebrates the resilience and ingenuity of ordinary people striving for progress.
