Twelve Beds is a documentary revisiting the story of Palestinian orphans — children of revolution martyrs — who grew up in a mixed orphanage in Souk el Gharb, Mount Lebanon, in the late 1960s. Some found refuge in the folk troupe founded by artist Abdallah Haddad, becoming cultural icons who toured the world during a global era of solidarity with the Palestinian cause. Decades later, those former students — now adults dispersed across multiple countries — share personal narratives of displacement, martyrdom, loss, and identity. The long-abandoned orphanage, still scarred by civil war, serves as a haunting backdrop for a meditation on sacrifice, homeland, and the endurance of collective memory.
