Overview

Arrière El Goddem is a Tunisian comedy science-fiction series that sends its protagonist Helmi on an involuntary journey through time. After wandering into a mysterious cave in the woods, he finds himself transported back to Tunisia in 1991 — a world without smartphones, social media, or any of the conveniences he takes for granted. Stranded in the past, Helmi desperately tries to communicate his impossible situation to his parents and grandparents, who are decades younger and entirely unprepared for the claims of a confused young man from the future. The series mines rich comedic territory from generational culture clash and the absurdity of navigating a pre-digital world, while also delivering a warmly nostalgic portrait of early-1990s Tunisian life.
