Overview
Ellombara is a suspenseful Tunisian thriller that opens with a violent confrontation when Islamist extremist Chokri attacks the rehearsal space of his sister Hasna, an actress and singer. Condemned in absentia and believed to be abroad, Chokri's death threats leave Hasna with no option but to flee the country clandestinely, at any cost and at risk to her life. Joining a dangerous cross-border journey with a group of strangers — men and women driven by their own desperate circumstances — Hasna must navigate a treacherous path defined by the absence of a single document: a visa. The film blends social realism with taut thriller pacing to explore illegal migration and the violence women face in the name of family honor.
