Fear: Audibly is an experimental Egyptian short film exploring one woman's anxious obsession with the end of days. Amal is consumed by the conviction that Judgment Day is imminent, and she waits with mounting dread for the sound of the Trumpet of Doom. When her office fills with the incessant mewing of cats, her spiraling mind begins to interpret it as a possible harbinger of the apocalypse. Eccentric and formally inventive, the film uses sound design and confined space to construct an intimate psychological portrait of religious anxiety and existential dread. A singular and unconventional meditation on faith, fear, and the threshold between the everyday and the eternal.
