Freedom Is a Habit I’m Trying to Learn, is a 2019 Emirati movie, directed by Mounira Al Solh. with a runtime of 25 minutes.
Freedom Is a Habit I'm Trying to Learn (الحرية، تلك العادة التي أحاول اكتسابها) is an experimental documentary project in which an artist spends 24 hours with each of four Syrian and Lebanese women forced to build new lives far from their homelands: Rogine in Zutphen, Waad in Oslo, Hanin in Washington DC, and Zeina in Sharjah. Together they cook, roll across the floors of their adopted cities, and speak openly about exile, ambition, and the quiet work of reconstructing identity. This screening presents the chapters featuring Rogine and Waad — an intimate portrait of displacement, resilience, and the ongoing search for a place to call home.
