The Sage is a Syrian drama set in a remote rural town in present-day Syria, where a retired doctor has long played the role of the village's moral and medical anchor — its "sage" in every sense of the word. Devoted to his community, he has given freely of his expertise and wisdom over decades. When his granddaughter comes to visit, her presence triggers a personal crisis that exposes the deep social deterioration wrought by war: eroded values, fractured relationships, and transformed behavior in those he thought he knew. A compelling character study that asks whether a life of service is enough to earn loyalty when society itself has been corroded.
