Aghlaa Min Hayati is an Egyptian social drama series that chronicles the arduous coming-of-age of Abdul Rahman, a young man from a popular neighborhood who is forced to abandon school after his father's death and shoulder the burden of supporting his family. Moving between a series of laboring jobs before eventually settling as a taxi driver, Abdul Rahman begins a slow and grinding ascent from the bottom of the social ladder. Through it all he remains devoted to his sisters and to the girlfriend he refuses to leave behind despite the material pressures they face. The series is a compassionate and authentic portrait of working-class Egyptian life and the quiet heroism of ordinary perseverance.
