Overview

Above the Noise is an intimate documentary capturing the creative retreat that gave birth to NAFIDA, a collaborative EP by artists Small X and Saib. Joined by fellow musicians Yo Asel and Saad El Baraka, the four artists withdrew to the hills of Sidi Mghayet in Morocco, seeking distance from the noise and pressures of the outside world in order to reconnect with their music and creative instincts. The film documents the quiet, unguarded moments of this residency — the conversations, the silences, the musical experiments, and the bonds of friendship that shaped the final work. Above the Noise is a candid look at artistic process, collaboration, and what it means to strip back the distractions and let the music speak.
