An Egyptian writer, director, and producer, she was born in Port Said Governorate in 1939. She graduated from the Journalism Department at the Faculty of Arts at Cairo University in 1964. She also studied scripting at the Free Studies Department at the Higher Institute of Cinema. After graduation, she worked as an assistant director with Kamal El-Sheikh, Niazi Mustafa, and other directors. She began her directing career in the mid-eighties, and her films include: (Sea of Illusions, Women, A Woman of Regrets, and The Captain’s Battle). Nadia, the whisper of the slave girls, and the life and joys of my heart. She died in 2012 after a struggle with heart disease at the age of 73.
