
An Egyptian musician, born in Alexandria, October 5, 1945. He grew up in an artistic family. His father, Hafez Ahmed Salama, was a composer of symphonic music, and his brother was a composer and accordion player in the Lady of Arab Singing Umm Kulthum Band, and the rest of his artistic family worked in the artistic field. Gamal Salama studied music from a young age, specializing in piano and then music composition at the Cairo Conservatory at the Academy of Arts under an excellent group of the best Egyptian and foreign professors. He also studied at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, from which he obtained the highest degree in music composition equivalent to a doctorate. He obtained a diploma from the National Higher Institute of Music from the Cairo Conservatory He worked as a faculty member at the Cairo Conservatory at the Academy of Arts. He also served as a member of the Music Committee of the Supreme Council of Culture, and led the National Folklore Band.
