Egyptian actor, born in 1936. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and a Bachelor’s degree at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts. He is famous for playing villain roles in many films and dramas. He worked in the Al-Hakim Theater since 1963 and participated in Madbolism shows. In his life, he played a number of well-known roles, including his role in the films (The Suspect, Five Doors, Take Care of Your Mind) and others. In the field of theater, he presented plays such as (For the sake of your eyes, Pygmalion, The Thief and the Dogs). He presented 6 series, including the first and fourth parts of the series (There is no god but God) and (Al-Baisaa’a, The Holy Kaaba). His last work was the series (The Republic of Zefta), while he was completely blind. Many years before his death, he moved away from acting after losing his sight due to an error in the make-up process by the Egyptian television makeup artist while performing the character (Haman) in the series (Muhammad, the Messenger of God), as a result of which he lost his sight. The make-up department on Egyptian television placed a large amount of tar on his head, which blocked the capillaries in the head and stopped oxygen from reaching the brain, in addition to using car paint to paint his face. He went blind immediately, and remained that way without treatment or compensation. He died in 2010 at Al Nozha International Hospital at the age of seventy-four.
