The Lady of the Palace, is a 2004 Egyptian movie, directed by Samir Habchi, and starring Nazira Jumblatt, Kamal Joumblatt, Fouad Jumblatt. with a runtime of 58 minutes.
The Lady of the Palace is a historical documentary that charts the Joumblatt family's centuries-long influence over Mount Lebanon, from the 17th century to the present day. At its heart is Nazira Joumblatt, born in 1889, who ascended to lead the Moukhtara palace in 1923 after her husband Fouad was assassinated. For twenty-five years she ruled the region with remarkable wisdom and iron resolve, simultaneously raising her son Kamal and grooming him for the Joumblatt legacy. Boldly entering a political arena dominated entirely by men, Nazira became a unifying force across Druze and Maronite communities alike — a towering figure whose story is essential to understanding modern Lebanon.
