Overview

Shafaq Qutbi is a drama film centred on an Arab theatre troupe whose members have gathered from across the Arab world — each one a refugee from a country ravaged by war. Now based in Sweden, the group rehearses a theatrical performance that draws directly from their own experiences of displacement and exile. As the line between performance and lived reality dissolves, the film explores how art becomes a means of recovery, testimony, and solidarity for people who have lost nearly everything. A deeply humanist work about the power of collective storytelling and the enduring human need to be heard.
